Yesterday was a great devotional. Faculty member at BYU-Idaho Brother Ralph Kern talked about how we need to have joy during trials. Lately, I have been feeling pretty down about this semester. It's hard to find the good when you were looking forward to what was supposed to be a fantastic semester. Brother Kern gave us three things when it comes to finding joy.
1) Learn to love and dream with someone. Roommates, best friends, a loved one, the love of your life, whoever it may be, share it with them.
Untold Dreams are Selfish Desires
2) Learn to have faith and devotion. Have a trust that will endure all things. This is where he started to talk about his wife who has MS. It was a tender and beautiful story and it brought tears to my eyes. It reminds me that things could always be worse.
3) Do your best, seize the day, create memories, and live without regret. We can make good things come out of bad situations.
This talk was exactly what I needed because things don't always turn out the way we want them too, but when we have faith, trust in the Lord, and a good attitude, we can make the best of it. These are my days to find the good from the bad!
When the pdf version of this talk is available, let me know and I will send you a copy :)
Thanks, Shell. I needed this. Especially today. Love you!
