The one class that is totally kicking my trash right now is French 101. Yes, I need to take it because it's part of having a literary studies emphasis. Why French? Well, it's because I've always wanted to take it. So yeah. I am having such a difficult time. A lot of people in my class took French in high school so I felt behind the first day of class. Sigh, it's time for some one on one tutoring. Which I start this week. Hopefully this will help because I am so lost.
My COMM240 class, News Gathering Principles and Practices, is just as intense. We have to submit a story to the Scroll (school newspaper) every two weeks. They have to be about a beat, a compile of five stories. My beat is about the Madison School Board. Meetings, phone calls, and more meetings. It wouldn't be such a pain if I had a car, but some of these meetings require a lot of wasted time walking. No fun. Oh and plus reading the Wall Street Journal every day, a blog that we have to write in weekly, and a feature story we have to work on throughout the semester. See why I already want to give up?
Oh but wait there's more. E335: American Literature. I really enjoy the class, but I am freaking out about "The Big Project": 1-2 page prospectus, 10-12 pages paper, 2 two-page close readings, 2 two-page article/chapter/book summaries, 2-3 pages annotated bibliography, and a 1-page conference proposal. Now my stress level is off the charts.
Now I know I'm flat out complaining, but I need to vent! It's not all bad, just extremely stressful. My sunshine moments are Edward telling me I can do it, random laugh sessions with my roommates, and Sunday naps.
