Wow. This subject is really broad. I will just tell you one thing I have learned. It is to never give up. Once in a while, you might have to come back to a problem and face it later. However, always always solve it. We all push ourselves to do something. The perfect example is riding a bike. The moment you want to quit, you receive words of encouragement, wipe away the tears, and get back on that bike until you cruise down the street! My most memorable "never give up" moment was in Junior Miss. I was extremely nervous about the interview. I had never done something like it before. My hostess, Mrs. Alder, was very helpful in overcoming my fears. I practiced and practiced. When the interview came, I was nervous but prepared. During the program we were asked a question and had to answer it by the end of the routine. When it was my turn to speak, I nailed it! It felt amazing!
Another thing that I don't like to give up on is practicing the piano. It is so hard to get to a piano and just play up at college. It seems like there's not enough time. Also when trying to improve, it can be very frustrating. I just want to play, but sometimes a song requires countless hours of drilling the same measures over and over again. When I can play the song I feel so accomplished! There is only one song that I had ever walked away from and that is "Waterfall" by John Shmidt. It's a killer. I still come back to it every year and every year I get a little better at it. In the near future I will conquer the song and bow to my imaginary audience!
