Whew...Made It! Pt. 1

This weekend was colossal! So many wonderful memories were made and it almost entirely wore me out! However, here I am in my room, just finishing a kiwi (ah, so good), and ready to begin my tale.

Hunger Games. One of the biggest movie events of the year. Josh, Hilary and I took part in it! Yes, we were a week late, but the theater was still crowded. I decided it would be fun to celebrate "The Games" with a little themed dinner.

Ta Da! Lunch with Cinna! It was chicken in a creamy orange sauce, peas, and rolls with butter and jam. In the book the rolls are shaped like flowers and the peas are prepared in an exquisite way. Most of you know I'm not very patient when it comes to cooking so I bought the rolls and got out the frozen peas. It was actually a hit! Well, "Chef" Hilary said the orange part of the sauce was overpowering but Dad and Josh enjoyed it!

Next up, dessert! Decided to take a stab at butter cream frosting, putting three colors in one icing bag, and make "Girl on Fire" flames. Ha, epic fail, but they were still delicious. I'm so glad Hilary was there to reassure me that butter cream frosting can be very temperamental. She even ate one!

Friday, March 30th, Hunger Games! YAY!

We get to Logan and ate at Chick-Fil-A. I had a ten dollar bill and a roll of quarters left. The total came to about $20. So I gave Hilary, who was driving, the money. Her, "What's this?" Me, "It's a roll of quarters, just give it to him." Haha the guy looked at us like we were crazy and started laughing. Hey dude, at least I put it in a roll for you. I could have given you a bag of 'em. Well we all laughed.

Then we ate our food in the parking lot. Yummy stuffs.

Like our shirts???

The movie was surprising. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. Of course, it's a book made into a movie so some crucial and funny moments were left out. I felt it needed a more comic relief that the book offers. Hilary hasn't read them yet, and loved it! One of my favorite parts was the parade with the tributes. Exactly how I pictured it!

OH! I almost forgot. Earlier last week, I became an aunt again! Welcome Luke Henry Allen. He's such a little blessing to everyone. He's still has to be on oxygen, but he is getting better every day. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures.

Look for the second part of my huge weekend news soon!

  1. Your roll of quarters story makes me laugh. My ex's mom always had tons of coins. Once eating out, his mom gave us a bag of silver dollars. There were like 20 bucks worth of them. the guy at the register seemed annoyed, but we thought it was funny! :)lol
