Well I'm finally taking the time to tell you the story. Sorry it took me a couple of days.
That's right, Edward finally proposed, at 12:05 a.m. March 3rd. Needless to say I won't ever ever forget it!
I have to tell you a little back story before I tell you how he proposed. So for Christmas he asked me what I wanted. I said, "Oh you know, just a car and a ring." ;) Well he being the literal man that he is, but not having that big of a paycheck, he gave me a red Mini Cooper Hot Wheels car, and a few Ring Pops, AND one of my favorite musicals, "Singing in the Rain". I loved my present!
Now fast forward three months. Friday evening my parents took my brother and I out to dinner. I didn't think we needed to because we had TONS of leftovers. I didn't mind too much though because it helped pass the time for when Edward and Hilary would arrive to stay for the weekend.
Once we came home they were already here! Yay! I sat down and Edward ended up telling them they arrived at 6:00 :) I know I should have been suspicious but I was just so happy to see them!
After playing some Brawl (video game) with Edward and Josh, I decided to go get my pajamas on. Well, I noticed a glow-in-the-dark star on my bed. "I don't have those anymore," I said to myself.
I looked up and there were tons of starts on my ceiling! I, thinking it was my birthday present,
came out of the room and gave Edward a big hug saying, "Thanks for the birthday present!"
He closed his eyes and sighed "You weren't supposed to see that yet..." Oops :s

We ended up watching "Cool Runnings" with the family, Around midnight everyone was trying to hurry and get to bed. That's when Edward gave me the rest of my present. He played on the Christmas gifts that he had given me. A movie (Real Steel) and another Mini Cooper Hot Wheels. My mom was in the kitchen and I showed her, "Oh that's nice" and she hurried out of there. Confused I went back into the living room, finding Josh asleep on the chair and Edward behind the couch. I went over and hugged him tight, because I started making the connections.
HOLD UP: Have to back track again. So last summer Edward and I were talking about proposals and there is this tune on Legend of Zelda when you open a treasure chest. It sounds like this.
We laughed immensely and I told him that would be silliest way to propose to someone.
FAST FORWARD: Guess what he did? Yep, he played that tune, then got down on one knee and said those magical words every girl wants to hear, "Will you marry me?" I started crying (of course) and said YES! He put in on my finger and we just stood there and held each other.
HOLD UP: This actually wasn't the way he was going to propose. Since I saw the stars early though, he had to switch it up. At midnight he was going to show me a computer program he was working on for a class. It was instructions to go into my room and look up at my ceiling, then he was somehow going to give me the rest of my present. Everything went wrong, according to him, but I wouldn't trade that moment for anything.

FAST FORWARD: Sigh, I loved that moment, but it was a little frustrating because you see, I still had some cold sores healing. Therefore, I couldn't even kiss him! All weekend!
Grrrr, so yeah I still haven't kissed him yet. Boo.

After he asked me I opened another birthday present. It was from his mom. Well his whole family actually. They had compiled a cookbook for me! It had recipes from his mom and dad, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, etc. He started pointing out ones that he really liked. "This one, you need to perfect." Guess I get to get my cooking on! I was truly touched with all the time and effort that went into making this. It gave me a feeling of welcome into their family, something that's very important to me.
We then stayed up for a couple of hours just being super happy with no one else around.
Sigh, it was great. The rest of my birthday mainly consisted of phone calls and texts.
Awww Yay!!! What a cute proposal! I'm so so happy for you Michelle!!! :D :D :D When my husband proposed to me, his plans had also gone completely wrong and he had to wing it, and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Those moments are the best! :D Have a blast planning your dream wedding dear! I fully expect some updates on the plans, 'cause it's one of the best parts I think! haha
